The Stewardship of Gifts get_app
If you’re from a certain era of life, you might have heard of a song made famous by Frank Sinatra called “My Way.” (I’m sure a few of you are humming it now; sorry!) The song is focused on self- evaluation that what the author did was for his own self-glorification. It was a way of justifying his life so that he could be proud of himself. We, however, are not living our lives with such selfish motives. The first step in stewardship after we recognize God’s ownership of all we have, is to realize we are His too! That means we need to steward ourselves.

- What is the direction given to the earth?
(shout for joy, praise and worship to God) - What is a logical thing for us to do since we’re part of the earth?
(worship God)
If the earth is commanded to praise and worship God, we need to see that this is a good direction for each of us as well. Going back to the study on how to worship God, we need to practice the stewardship of using what talents He has given us to worship Him.
- What would you say you are good at?
(maybe ask others in the room to help you here) - How are you using what you’re good at to worship God? If you’re not, how can you?

God has equipped each of us with certain abilities, whether they are easily seen by others or not. We tend to put too much emphasis on the “flashy” stuff like preaching and singing because they are so visible; but God has given you specific abilities to honor and glorify Him. Not to use them to bring Him glory is poor stewardship. To use them to glorify Him is to fulfill the purpose for which He gave you the gifts in the first place.
On our scale of 1 to 10, how well are you stewarding your gifts to glorify the Lord?
Pray for God to help you see how every aspect of what we do is part of our personal stewardship to Him and even the most normal parts of ourselves are gifts to be used by God.
