Read 1 John 4:13-19.

In verses 13-15, John lists 3 things that should make us confident of the love that the Father has shown us.

What would you say these three things are?
(1. He has given us his Spirit; 2. We have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world; 3. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him.)

What is the conclusion that John makes in verse 16?
(God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.)

According to verse 17, what is the result of God’s love being perfected in us?
(That we may have confidence on the day of judgement)

For those who do not know the love of God in Christ Jesus, can they have confidence for the coming day of judgement? (NO)

What will their response be? (Fear)

According to verse 18, what is the relationship between fear and love? (Perfect love casts out fear)

In verse 19, what is our motive as Christians to love others? (The love that God has shown us)

If we have friends who do not know Jesus, what is the most loving thing we can do for them? (Share the good news with them)

Why is that the loving thing to do? (So that they can have the confidence that we have for the coming day of judgement)

Close by praying for the people you have identified that need to hear the gospel.
