The Power for Evangelism get_app

Published: May 6, 2020

Read Acts 1:6-11.

What is the question that the Disciples ask Jesus in this passage? (verse 6)

What is the promise that Jesus gives in verse 8?
(You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.)

According to this verse, where will the power for evangelism come from? (The Holy Spirit)

Is this a promise for us or only for the original disciples? (For us)

How do we know that this is a promise for us?
(Because the disciples didn’t reach all of the earth in their lifetime)

What did the Angel say to the men after Jesus ascended?
(“Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”)

What do you think that the Angel was trying to communicate to the men who saw Jesus ascend?

I think he was telling them get to work. The implication seems to be, “Don’t just stand around looking into heaven; get to work because Jesus is coming back.”

Close by praying for the people that you identified yesterday.
