Some of you might be wondering what all this stuff about the Sabbath has to do with the Lord’s Day. Yes, the Jewish people rested and worshiped on a different day, but why is that important? Read
- What happened?
(Jesus rose from the dead!)
Read
- What does Jesus’ resurrection accomplish?
(salvation, the forgiveness of sins, which is to be proclaimed in Jesus’ name to all nations; that’s why Paul says it is so important in1 Cor 15 !)
This single event changed the world! Before Jesus’ resurrection, God’s people looked forward to true rest as they trusted in God and worshiped him on the last day of the week. Since Jesus’ resurrection, God’s people gather in worship on the first day of the week to look back and be reminded of the glorious truth that we have now entered true rest.
Close in prayer, praising God for the resurrection of Jesus on the first day of the week that changed the world, our lives, and our day of worship.
